Once you have downloaded the CMS install of your choice, then you have to go to your ftp file manager and extract or unarchive it. Terminology is usually different in File managers.
Look under public_html for the folder that you uploaded the files to.
Example your domain is www.mywebsite.com you named your folder that is attached to that domain "mywebsite" so thats the folder you will be working with.
Click on that folder then it should open up in the middle.
On the left hand side where your folder is click the (+) that expands the folder. Click the (-) to close the folder.
Once the folder is open in the middle column there should be all the files inside of that folder.
Click on the zip file so its highlighted, then click unarchive or extract. This will take the zip file and turn it into a regular folder. Once you see the regular folder than you click on that folder on the left hand side. This will open the folder. You then need to highlight every folder in that file and Click Move to. Once you click move to it will open up a " where do you want to move it " Click the main folder which is the folder attached to your domain.
